The condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects. Put another way, one of the most used excuses to procrastinate.
We, and I am sure many of you, want things to be perfect. We read, research, adjust, work, change, delay, etc. just until we think it is the right (perfect) time. The truth is, there is no perfect time.
We have delayed doing many things in our lives and in our businesses because we thought there would be a better time. There isn’t. A massive, and tough, lesson to learn is to just go for it. Obviously, research, learn, and adjust what may be needed to get you going in the right direction, but don’t wait for perfection.
You will be waiting your whole life. And if you wait long enough all you will feel is regret. You know this. We know this. It isn’t easy to just start and move, but it is required.
Start waking up early. Start going to the gym. Start a more nutritious way of eating. Start that lifestyle change you have been thinking about. Update your resume. Read the book. Study the material. Whatever it is. Just start.
This does not mean to aim lower in any fashion. Aim high and set your goals higher than that. It only means do not procrastinate action based on the idea of perfection.
We are in this same process now. Forcing ourselves to just start. Now it is your time to start. Don’t seek perfection. Seek progress. Seek being a tiny bit better than yesterday. You’ve got this.
Earn the day.
