In the past, we have briefly touched on why our logo is a lion, but we have never given you the full background (silly us). So, we want to take a few minutes to explain the story behind the lion - what it means to our mission, vision, and community (The Odisi Family).

So, let's begin...

Before starting this journey back in 2019, Jake* was gifted a personal logo. A logo that discretely contained his initials 'JB', which served as the lion's mane. Then, in the middle was a custom lion's face, the focal point, if you will.

Jake's logo represented who he is as an athlete and human being. Fierce, fast, strong, aggressive, courageous, relentless, and loyal. Plus, having been given the nickname, "The Beast", flawlessly lent its hand to the nature of what a lion represents.

The lion's face (from Jake's logo) quickly became the starting point of what would soon become Beast Made Clothing's logo.

That logo was better known as "The OG". The OG paved the way for what you all know today as our current Odisi brand mark - our "Evolution Lion".

We designed the Evolution Lion with simple elegance in mind. Aggressive eyes, a sharp nose, finished with the signature lion's cross for the mouth. By using both the positive and negative space, we were able to combine the complex nature of a lion and the evolution of our brand into one complete mark.

This logo took our little world by storm due to the massive change it brought to the brand. At first, there were mixed feelings. Some loved it. Some missed The OG. After all, few people like change and this was a big one. But, it soon became a favorite amongst our community and even those in passing.

We have had countless people at the airport, the grocery store, or on a walk outside say, "I love that logo, what is it?" Well, now that you know what the logo is and a bit of the backstory, let us explain why we built our company around the face of a lion...

Why the lion face? Because a lion represents five main things:

1. Relentless Fortitude ~ The mentality that carries the weight of your ancestors. The generations that came before you, allowing you to exist in this very moment. A mentality that gives your life meaning.

The perseverance, grit, and incessant action when pursuing excellence regardless of circumstances.

2. Loyalty ~ The dedication and commitment to those you surround yourself with. Loyalty is about trust, honesty, dependability, and respect - the lifeblood.

With loyalty, you can conquer the world. Without it, simple chaos will create cracks in your foundation.

Note: Loyalty is not about blind action and obedience - that leads to weakness and dysfunction.

3. Leadership ~ The example that you set in your words and carry out with your actions. Lead by example through authenticity, curiosity, and adaptability.

Great leadership requires listening, taking accountability, and building strong relationships. A leader is only as good as the community they lead.

4. Courage ~ The capacity to face fear, risk being misunderstood, and fight for something greater than yourself.

Taking action in the face of fear and adversity. Taking action regardless of judgement. Taking action in service of others. Taking action knowing you might fail.

Courage forges warriors. Courage breaks barriers. Courage defines greatness.

5. Strength ~ No matter how challenging, lonely, dark, or painful the journey gets, lions keep moving forward. They embrace the darkness and suffering for as long as it takes to achieve greatness. The same goes for humans.

To us, the lion represents far more than five main points.

It represents an incessant desire to improve.

It represents the mindset of defining greatness.

It represents a mark of strength in adversity.

It represents a community of individuals seeking discomfort, nobility, and personal excellence.

It represents the person crazy enough to think they can dent the universe.

It represents hope, humility, and perseverance through hardship.

It represents your journey, from start to finish.

It represents Odisi.

Remember - Never settle. Never give up. Never shy away from a challenge.

Let's dent the universe and define greatness!
